Our Farming Legacy

Farming is in our blood. As third generation farmers in Sonoma, we grew up on the ranch learning stewardship and sustainability from our parents and grandparents. Our first grapevines were planted in 1969, and for nearly fifty years we continue to honor our family’s tradition of growing premium grapes from our estate vineyards in Carneros, Napa and along the Sonoma Coast. As a family business, we enjoy working together as a team, with two generations working side-by-side each and every day.

“While farming is at the heart of my family, it is exciting to start making something from the fruits of our labor. I believe that creating this wine is like creating a history book for our future generations. It encompasses the story of how our family has evolved, while still honoring the legacy of our past.” – Mia Sangiacomo Pucci

Our family has always felt a deep connection to the land — most especially through farming. It all began in Genoa, Italy where a good day’s work for our grandfather Vittorio Sangiacomo started and ended in the field. He voyaged to America in 1913 on the advice of our great grandfather and got his first job at age 17 in the vegetable fields at Bay Farm Island in Alameda County, California. Shortly thereafter he began working in the scavenger industry in San Francisco where he later successfully launched his own business. But he longed to return to working the land and in 1927, he purchased a 52-acre fruit tree ranch in Sonoma Valley. Today, we call that the Home Ranch.

Our inspiration for Sangiacomo Wines is born from a pursuit to craft the very finest wines and honor our family heritage while creating a legacy for the next generation.

Drawing from our family history rooted deeply in farming and a genuine passion for grape growing, our wines showcase the very best of our estate vineyards. For over 50 years we have been committed to growing some of the finest grapes in Sonoma County, and we are proud to now introduce a series of wines that showcase our own artistic expression of our vineyards. We are inspired by legacy – an unwavering commitment to learn, grow and build value for the next generation.
