94+ Points – Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2016 Pinot Noir Roberts Road Vineyard is a little reticent to begin, opening out to reveal incredible redcurrant, Bing cherries and lilacs scents with nuances of cinnamon stick, orange peel and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has an almost electric intensity of vibrant fruit, with a fine-grained frame and fantastic tension, finishing on a lingering mineral note. — Lisa Perrotti-Brown
92 Points – California Grapevine
Medium-light ruby; attractive, red cherry and strawberry fruit aroma with herbal and spicy notes; medium body; elegant, red cherry fruit flavors with earthy and mineral notes, well-integrated oak, good acid balance, and a silky mouthfeel; medium tannin; lingering aftertaste. Initially a bit reticent, but developed depth and personality as it aired in the glass making it very enjoyable to drink now, though best to bottle age for a few more years. Very highly recommended. — Nick Ponomareff
91 Points – PinotFile
Moderate garnet color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry reduction and toasty oak lead off. Discreetly concentrated in a mid weight style, featuring flavors of purple berry, blackberry, pomegranate and spice flavors. Very suave on the palate with cashmere tannins and some finishing purpose. There is some alcohol warmth on the finish. A bit of oak characters persist even when tasted the follow day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. — Rusty Gaffney, MD
The body is expansive, textured with velvet and silk. Aromatics and flavors are well-integrated showing freshly simmered strawberry jam, blueberry and bramble. The concentrated deep fruit notes are balanced with earth and minerals. A dash of warm spices leads into a long and focused finish.

THE 2016 VINTAGE
The 2016 growing season was welcomed with abundant and consistent winter rainfalls to replenish the earth and provide ample supply of water. Bud break arrived slightly early followed by April showers. Roberts Road Vineyard sits at the base of Sonoma Mountain at the far northern edge of the Petaluma Gap region. The fog from the ocean near Bodega Bay pours into this region first, and exits last. Therefore most of the day is spent in fog and clouds which produce extremely small berries and low yields. The moderate temperatures promote long and even ripening with natural acidity balance and full, complex flavor maturity. Our farming approach is low-impact, and in harmony with Mother Nature. Harvest begins in the early morning hours during the coolest part of the day; with yields below average for this vintage.
